A 14 inch guide bar is the most common choice for domestic and hobby chainsaws used for preparing firewood and pruning trees. The kit provides a new bar together with two chains, so the cutting attachment of the saw is renewed all at once and the new chain does not run in a worn groove.
The combination of a 3/8 inch pitch, a .050 inch drive link gauge and 52 links is one of the widespread standards, but it should be compared with the saw's original equipment. The two chains in the pack let you work continuously and always sharpen the one that is currently off the machine.
