The height of the brush is particularly important, because a brush that is too short will no longer sit on the commutator with sufficient pressure.
The brushes are supplied as a pair so that both can be replaced at the same time, as recommended by service technicians. During installation, also check the cleanliness of the commutator and the springs in the holder, so the new carbon brushes last longer and the motor does not spark unnecessarily.
