Metal drill bit with a carbide tip 13x125mm
The metal drill bit with a brazed tip of sintered carbide is intended for demanding conditions in which common HSS drill bits are no longer enough. The cutting edge of YG8 carbide reaches a hardness of around 90 HRA, so it wears more slowly and keeps its sharpness even during intensive work.
The body of the drill bit is of 40CR steel, which gives the tool the necessary strength. The carbide keeps its hardness even at higher temperatures, so the cutting remains stable even under a greater load. It is, however, hard and at the same time brittle, therefore the drill bit is not intended for hammer or impact work — the recommended speed is 1000 to 1500 per minute.
