Metal drill bit with sintered carbide 7x85mm
The metal drill bit with a tip of sintered carbide with a diameter of 7 mm is intended for work in demanding conditions, where common HSS drill bits stop being enough. The cutting tip of YG8 carbide reaches a hardness of around 90 HRA, so it keeps its sharpness substantially longer and drills even in materials which quickly blunt a classic drill bit.
The body of the drill bit is of 40CR steel, which ensures the necessary strength and steady guidance. Sintered carbide is at the same time brittle, therefore the drill bit requires firm clamping of the workpiece and a calm feed without blows. The recommended speed is 1000 to 1500 per minute.
