Metal drill bit with sintered carbide 9x90mm
The metal drill bit with a tip of sintered carbide with a diameter of 9 mm is intended for where common HSS drill bits are no longer enough. YG8 carbide reaches a hardness of approximately 90 HRA, so the cutting edge wears markedly more slowly and the tool keeps its parameters even after longer use.
Sintered carbide moreover does not lose its hardness as quickly as HSS when heated, so the drill bit works steadily even at a higher temperature. The body of 40CR steel gives the tool the necessary strength. The carbide is, however, brittle and does not tolerate blows, therefore firm clamping and a smooth feed at a speed of 1000 to 1500 per minute are important.
