The Tvardy long metal drill bit with a diameter of 8 mm and a total length of 305 mm is the solution for holes that an ordinary drill bit simply cannot manage — deep through-holes, penetrations through thicker profiles and places where the drill cannot get close enough. The design according to the DIN 1869 standard guarantees that both the length and the geometry fit common machines.
The drill bit is made of HSS high-speed steel and the point is ground at an angle of 130°, so it centres well and does not skate across the surface when started — which is crucial with such a long drill bit. The gold surface finish reduces friction and increases resistance to abrasion and high temperature. It drills into structural steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and plastics.
