Set of sharpening water stones 400-8000 with a stand
A water stone sharpens differently than a grinder: it removes material gradually and gently, so it does not burn the blade and the blade does not lose its hardness – that is the reason why cooks and joiners use it for quality knives and chisels.
The set covers the whole procedure: the coarse grit of 400 restores a damaged edge, 1000 creates the edge, 3000 fine-tunes it and 8000 polishes it to a mirror shine. This is complemented by a leather strop with polishing paste for the final honing. Essential are the two guide rails – one for knives, the other for chisels and joinery tools – which keep a constant angle, which is the hardest part of hand sharpening. The stones stand on rubber pads on a bamboo stand with a non-slip bottom side. The set also contains a flattening stone for restoring the surface of a sharpening stone.
