Plastic Fermentation Airlock 8mm


The fermentation airlock with a diameter of 8 mm is an essential aid in the home production of wine, must, mead and beer. It is made of transparent plastic, thanks to which you can see the bubbling and have an immediate overview of how the fermentation is progressing. The airlock is fitted onto a demijohn or a fermentation vessel and once filled with water it creates a water seal that lets the carbon dioxide being produced escape outside. At the same time it prevents air, fruit flies and bacteria from getting into the vessel.

The tube is fixed into a rubber stopper with an opening matching its diameter, which is not part of the package. It is used throughout the whole fermentation until it is finished, when the bubbling stops. Once it is over, all you need to do is take the airlock apart, wash it with clean water and put it away until the next season.
