Tvardy Impact Socket 1/2" 17mm, 6-Point CR-MO
The Tvardy impact socket is a short 17 mm socket with a 1/2" drive, designed for use with an impact wrench. Ordinary chrome-vanadium sockets tend to tear or crack over time under impacts, which is why this one is made of chrome-molybdenum steel, which absorbs blows instead of becoming brittle from them — so it also withstands the removal of rusted wheel and chassis bolts.
The hexagonal profile sits on the screw head over its whole surface, so the socket does not turn over and does not round off the edges even at high tightening torque. The short design gives greater rigidity and fits where an extended socket no longer gets through. The hole in the side allows it to be secured with a retaining pin and a rubber ring, which is very practical when working at height or above the engine bay.
