Brush Cutter Carburettor Diaphragm
The diaphragm is a flexible part of a diaphragm carburettor that responds to the vacuum in the engine and meters the exact amount of fuel regardless of the position in which you are holding the machine. Over time it hardens and loses its elasticity, and the engine then will not hold idle, stalls when you open the throttle or cannot be started at all.
Replacing the diaphragm is one of the cheapest jobs when servicing a brush cutter and usually solves problems that look like an ignition fault. When dismantling the carburettor, it is worth blowing out the channels and checking the fuel filter at the same time so that deposits from old petrol do not clog the new part.
