Centrifugal clutch for petrol brushcutter
The centrifugal clutch is a component that in petrol brushcutters transfers the revolutions from the engine to the drive shaft. At idle it remains disengaged and the cutting head stands still, and when the throttle is applied the jaws open due to centrifugal force and engage the drum, so the machine starts up smoothly and safely.
The clutch lining is a consumable material and wears out over time – this shows up as slipping, a smell of overheating, or the head turning even at idle. Replacing it with a new part is cheaper than repairing the whole machine, and the clutch's dimensions also fit many other commonly imported models.
