Bamboo matcha tea whisk (chasen)
The traditional Japanese chasen whisk is an essential helper when preparing matcha tea. It is handmade and shaped from a single piece of bamboo and, thanks to its fine tines, it blends matcha powder smooth and free of lumps until a fine foam is created. Natural bamboo may have slightly different shades and grain, so every piece is an original.Before use, soak the whisk briefly in hot water so that the bamboo tines soften. After every use, rinse it in clean water without washing-up liquid, do not soak it and let it dry freely, ideally on a traditional kusenaoshi stand so that it does not lose its shape.
