HSS Combined Drill and Tap M3x0,5mm with HEX 1/4" Shank
The combined drill and tap merges two operations into one: it first drills the hole and immediately cuts an M3 thread in it, so you do not have to swap the drill for a tap and risk cutting the thread crooked. In series assembly or when working in a cramped space, this saves noticeably more time than it seems at first glance.
The tool is made of high-speed steel HSS with a TiN titanium coating, which reduces friction and increases resistance to wear and to the higher temperatures produced during cutting. The hexagonal HEX 1/4" shank fits ordinary cordless screwdrivers, quick-change chucks and magnetic bit holders, so you do not need a special drill. It can be used on steel, aluminium and plastics — exactly the materials where small M3 threads are most commonly used.
